About the role
CORE (Community Organized Relief Effort) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to build sustained, community-based response programs to natural disasters. In response to the southern California wildfire, CORE provides free Non-Food Items (NFI) to the victims, Logistical Support to local government, Cash assistance, and many other critical services. This is accomplished through maintaining strategic partnerships with local health agencies and community-based organizations to reach high-risk populations in vulnerable areas. CORE is actively seeking an experienced Warehouse and Logistics Manager to oversee all aspects of CORE California’s warehousing and inventory systems. This role reports to the Team Leader for CORE’s Southern California Wildfire Response, with a dotted line of responsibility to the Sr. Director fo Procurement and Logistics. The responsibilities for this role encompass the management and execution of Warehousing Standards and Procedures, which involves the utilization of associated tools such as adhering to reporting requirements, overseeing inventory management systems, optimizing warehouse layout, and handling the reception and distribution of goods and materials. In addition, this role will be responsible for overseeing the distribution of essential Nonfood Items (NFIs)—such as air purifiers and hygiene kits—to vulnerable populations affected by the Los Angeles wildfires. This role ensures efficient delivery operations, manages warehouse staff and drivers, and maintains inventory accuracy.
Responsibilities:
- Warehouse and Inventory Management
- Oversee all aspects of warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, and distribution of goods.
- Use and train staff on usage of warehouse and inventory management software.
- Strategically optimize warehouse layout and space utilization, including shelving, racking, and binning systems, while ensuring accessibility and safety standards are met.
- Track, control, and meticulously organize inventory levels to ensure accuracy.
- Conduct regular audits to verify inventory accuracy and take corrective actions when discrepancies arise.
- Promptly address and resolve any inventory-related issues or complaints.
- Schedule and coordinate inventory transportation to operational sites.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as IT, Programs and National Logistics, to meet specific requirements for order fulfillment.
- Hire, train and supervise warehouse and logistics personnel
- Assign tasks, set performance expectations, and monitor team performance of direct reports
- Enforce comprehensive safety policies and procedures within the warehouse to maintain a secure working environment
- Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements
- Warehouse Safety: Implementing and enforcing safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Conducting regular safety inspections, providing training to warehouse staff on safe operating practices, and addressing any potential hazards or incidents promptly.
- Compliance and Regulations: Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, such as health and safety standards, labor laws, and industry-specific requirements. Staying updated on regulatory changes and implementing necessary measures to maintain compliance.
- Work closely with CORE’s Global Logistics Managers to implement CORE’s warehouse management systems
- Work closely with CORE’s Global Procurement Manager to support procurement activities
- Provide logistical support and coordination for emergency response operations, ensuring timely deployment of resources and supplies to disaster-affected areas.
- Coordinate Deliveries – Plan and oversee the timely distribution of NFIs to affected communities.
- Route & Schedule Planning and Dispatch – Develop delivery schedules and optimize routes for efficiency.
- Stakeholder Coordination – Work with local agencies, vendors, and community partners to streamline distribution efforts.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or public administration, supply chain management, logistics or related field
- Language: Proficiency in English is necessary
Experience:
- At least 2 years of experience in Warehouse/Inventory Management or related field
- Emergency Response project management experience a plus
- At least 1 year of Supervisory Experience required
