We are always on the lookout for future-oriented talent – want to join the ride?</span></span></p> <p> </p> <p><span><span>We are now looking for a </span></span></p> <p> </p> <p><span><span><b>Senior Product Improvement Engineer</b></span></span></p> <p> </p> <p><span><span>to join our team working for a better future. The position is permanent and the preferred location is in Trieste, Genova (IT), but also Turku, Vaasa (FIN) are possible locations. </span></span></p> <p> </p> <p><span><span><b>What you will be doing </b></span></span></p> <p> </p> <p><span><span>You’ll be working in a team which is accountable for Product Improvement Process of Large Bore Engines.</span></span></p> <p> </p> <p><span><span><b>As Sr. Product Improvement Engineer, your work will focus on these responsibilities: </b></span></span></p> <p> </p> <ul> <li><span><span>Lead and manage assigned product improvement projects as comprehensive projects, ensuring timely and effective execution.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies, to drive product improvement initiatives</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Collaborate with cross-functional and cross-divisional teams to gather insights, identify improvement opportunities, and implement solutions.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Maintain accurate and up-to-date data in our systems (i.e., Salesforce and Polarion), which are integral tools for the Product Improvement Process.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Monitor and report on project progress, providing regular updates to stakeholders and ensuring alignment with business objectives.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and promoting best practices and innovative solutions.</span></span></li> </ul> <p><br/> <span><span><b>To be successful in this role, we expect you to have: </b></span></span></p> <p> </p> <ul> <li><span><span>BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>More than 3 years of experience with diesel and/or gas engines, or in a similar technical field.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Strong problem-solving and solution-finding skills, with a proactive approach to addressing challenges.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Proficiency in risk management, with the ability to identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and guide teams towards achieving project goals.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Strong command of English, both oral and written, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Project management experience is highly desirable.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Knowledge of Wärtsilä business and products is considered a significant advantage.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Willingness and ability to travel as required to support project activities and collaborate with global teams.</span></span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span><span><b>Preferred Qualifications:</b></span></span></p> <p> </p> <ul> <li><span><span>Experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or similar.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to diesel and gas engines.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects from inception to completion.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.</span></span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span><span>In this role, some travel is required to meet with our customers around the world.
