Summary 

The Senior Facility Manager - Critical Environments is responsible for managing the assigned sites within the account owned and/or occupied portfolio in accordance with the requirements of all local, state and federal requirements. The position is responsible for all lines of business and third-party relationships with the assigned data centers. The position will also manage a team of Facility Management professionals and reports to the Regional Facility Manager. The key to success in this role is to be an open, transparent and consistent communicator to all stakeholders. In this role, you have the opportunity to shape a portion of the digital economy as well as the careers and lives of the teams supporting operations. 

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities 

Task will include but not be limited to: 

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the data center campus and facilities within, including power distribution, cooling systems, fire suppression, security systems, and environmental controls. Ensure all critical systems are functioning optimally at all times. 

  • Track, monitor, report and drive best in class operational metrics, including meeting and/or exceeding client CPI thresholds. Ensure staff understands performance impacts.  

  • Develop and implement long-term facility strategies aligned with the organization's goals, ensuring the data center's capacity, efficiency, and resilience meet current and future needs. Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and optimize the facility. 

  • Develop, approve and implement a comprehensive maintenance program for the data center, including preventive maintenance schedules, equipment testing, and inspections. Coordinate with maintenance staff or contractors to execute maintenance activities with minimal impact on operations. 

  • Oversee and coordinate major facility projects, including expansions, relocations, equipment upgrades, and infrastructure improvements. Develop project plans, manage timelines, budgets, and resources, and ensure successful project execution while minimizing downtime and disruptions. 

  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans, including incident management and business continuity procedures. Conduct regular drills to test emergency procedures and ensure the team is prepared to respond effectively to any critical events. 

  • Identify potential risks and vulnerabilities within the data center facility and develop appropriate risk mitigation strategies. Establish and maintain robust business continuity plans, including disaster recovery procedures, to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted operations. 

  • Engage and manage relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure they deliver high-quality services and comply with contractual obligations. Coordinate maintenance contracts, repairs, and inspections.
