About the role

Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Business Analyst to support our First Banks’s back-office loan operations. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in banking operations or financial data analysis and will be responsible for analyzing loan data, supporting projects, preparing reports, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The role also involves creating and reviewing workflows in Jack Henry Enterprise Workflow or similar loan systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze loan data across a variety of loan types, to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for process improvements.
• Support project initiatives, including system implementations, process enhancements, and regulatory changes.
• Develop, maintain, and distribute operational and regulatory reports for internal stakeholders and management.
• Create, review, and maintain workflows in Jack Henry Enterprise (SilverLake) or other core banking systems.
• Ensure compliance with applicable banking regulations and internal policies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, finance, IT, and risk management, to support business needs.
• Assist in validating and reconciling data to ensure accuracy for operational and regulatory purposes.
• Document business processes, standard operating procedures, and workflow changes.
• Identify opportunities to automate or streamline processes using data analysis and workflow tools.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in banking operations, data analysis, or loan servicing.
• Strong understanding of commercial lending operations.
• Proficiency with data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, or BI tools) and reporting.
• Experience with Jack Henry Enterprise workflow creation or review preferred.
• Knowledge of banking regulations affecting loan operations (e.g., HMDA, CRA, Reg Z, Reg O).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.


Preferred:

• Experience with process improvement methodologies.
• Familiarity with loan system integrations and data validation processes.

Training:

• Jack Henry Enterprise (SilverLake) loan system navigation and workflow management
• Loan servicing and accounting fundamentals (amortization, payments, rate changes, adjustments)
• Advanced Excel and data analysis (pivot tables, formulas, data validation)
• SQL or reporting tools for data extraction and analysis
• Business process documentation and workflow design
• Regulatory training related to loan operations (HMDA, CRA, Reg Z, Reg O)
• Data validation and reconciliation practices
• Process improvement fundamentals (Lean or similar methodologies)
• Bank Secrecy Act
• Privacy Act
• Other compliance training as assigned

Communication (Requirement to communicate orally and verbally):
• This position requires well-refined verbal and written communication skills to effectively support and service the Loan Servicing Team outlined above. The position may be asked to provide periodic reports to management regarding program success and updates.
