Medtronic's Cardiac Ablation Solutions division is searching for an Electrical Engineering Manager to join our growing team! The chosen candidate will be a strategic leader, dynamic people manager, and innovative thinker. The Cardiac Ablation Solutions team is engaged in developing next generation medical technologies that save lives and improves the quality of life for millions of patients across the world.
Provides electrical engineering support for development and manufacture of medical devices or hand-held and desktop medical instrumentation products. Evaluates existing products and provides solutions that improve manufacturability, reduce cost, and increase reliability. Lead or supports cross functional project teams including members from Product Development, Released Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Marketing, Contract Manufacturing Engineering, Reliability, and Regulatory functions to identify, implement, and qualify new and revised medical products. Acts as a liaison with external vendors to ensure continuity of product supply. Works effectively and efficiently with multi-functional teams. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Simulates and tests analog and digital circuits.
  • Evaluates returned product to determine the root cause of the return.
  • Supports both electrical and mechanical projects that are outsourced, managing the deliverables to ensure that high quality product is developed on schedule and budget, and is manufacturable and testable.
  • Collaborates with cross functional team members throughout the development and support of a product.
  • Provides technical support to Design, Manufacturing, Reliability, Contract Manufacturing Engineering, and Service Departments.
  • Provides work direction to technicians.
  • Some issues are reactive, so priorities could change, and issues must be resolved in a timely manner to assure quality and continuity of supply. Must have a passion for problem solving.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements- To be considered for this role, please ensure the minimum requirements are evident in your applicant profile. 

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Electrical Engineering, Science or technical field with 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Advanced degree required in Electrical Engineering, Science or technical field with 2+ years of relevant experience.

Nice to Have  

  • Experience designing and manufacturing electrical products such as capital equipment, electrophysiology suite accessories, and or therapeutic catheters.
  • Experience or background in high voltage circuit design and designing for EMC standards.
  • Proven people leader with the ability to motivate teams and promote innovation at all levels. 
  • Experience working with contract manufacturers and suppliers on technically challenging projects.
