Specialist, Software Engineer (Test Automation Developer)

This role can be filled in Columbus, Ohio, Des Moines, Iowa, or Scottsdale, Arizona. This will be a hybrid role that will require you to be in the office 2 days per week (Wednesdays & Thursdays) for team collaboration.

This role is within P&C Technology supporting Claims & Shared Services and the Guidewire ClaimCenter platform, functioning as a Test Automation Developer and Quality Engineer.  The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in test automation, quality assurance, and software development.  Your primary focus will be supporting the tasks required to manage a claim, including the primary integration functions, such as activities workplan, parties involved, and communications. These functions are being synthesized into a modern, Angular web app to maximize and streamline claim rep workflows. Key Responsibilities:

• Help within the design, development, and implementation of automated test frameworks and test scripts.

• Strong understanding of Quality Metrics.

• Collaborate with development teams to integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline.

• Ensure the team follows best practices for code reviews and version control.

• Guide team members in test automation and quality assurance best practices.

• Drive test automation strategy and continuously improve test processes, frameworks, and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

• Proficient with Hexawise, Cucumber, and Guidewire Products.

 

Required Skills and Experience:

• Scripting Languages: Proficiency in Ruby (preferred) or other i.e., AngularJS and Java.

• Version Control: Strong understanding of GitHub, including branching and pull request strategies.

• Continuous Integration: Experience with CICD tools, preferably Github Actions and Jenkins, and a basic understanding of Docker and Kubernetes.

• Test Automation: Extensive experience in developing and maintaining automated test scripts and frameworks.

• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively.
