About the Role

The Director of Product – Trading will be responsible for driving, developing and evangelizing the product strategy and roadmap for BetMGM’s trading platform. The trading platform includes liability management, pricing, player limiting, event creation, betting & settlement workflow, and feed and partner integration. The Director will also be the key champion for driving operational efficiency via automation within our trading function. The ideal candidate will be data and customer obsessed, understanding how to use qualitative and quantitative research as well as product discovery techniques to make sure our trading platform is built with the flexibility, performance and scalability to support our consumer facing delivery teams. This key role will work with senior team members across product, product design, user research, engineering, marketing, and trading functions to create well-researched and innovative product strategies, always keeping a close eye on the competitive landscape, and drawing inspiration from a wide variety of digital products and experiences.  

The Director of Trading Product should be a dynamic leader and highly impactful communicator, with an excellent ability to present to and gather feedback from senior stakeholders. They should contribute meaningfully to creating a culture of excellence and driving the practice of product management and innovation, helping BetMGM create the future of sports and entertainment.  

Responsibilities

• A passion for U.S. sports and deep understanding of the sports betting trading platform ecosystems 

• Experience managing and coaching a team of product managers in the intricacies of trading platforms 

• Willingness to collaborate with cross functional teams located throughout the world, including teams focused on delivering consumer facing experiences 

• Provide vision and direction to the product, Trading, Business Intelligence, engineering, program and key business teams throughout the process as required 

• Build and maintain the analytical foundation within the trading product team in collaboration with Trading and BI groups of both existing product health and the future-looking sportsbook platform KPIs 

• Influence your team and cross functional stakeholders towards alignment and execution 

• Construct cohesive and comprehensive reports that showcase an accurate performance story and include recommendations for future optimizations 

• Ability to distill and summarize sophisticated information down to the main points, with the appropriate level of detail to make it understandable/actionable for senior leadership and key partners 

• Assess competitive environment, industry trends, current state strengths and gaps, as well as field representative needs
