Description of role: Gursey | Schneider is looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented individual who will work integrally with litigation professionals at all levels to contribute to the discovery management shared service team. This role allows for professional growth and career progression.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- The Discovery Management Staff role ensures the efficient handling and organization of various documents within the company. This role involves reviewing, categorizing, and importing financial, legal, corporate, real estate, and other documents into the firm’s document management systems and assigning access rights to internal employees.
- Assists in reviewing, organizing, and categorizing financial, legal, corporate, real estate, and other documents for importation and metadata entry into the firm’s document management software and associated applications.
- Produces documents for external parties on request, including applying bates stamps, arranging additional organization, and creating Sharefile links for transmittal.
- Creates new client profiles and assigns relevant access rights to internal staff.
Required Qualifications and Skill/Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 1-2+ years of legal, litigation, or paralegal experience within a professional setting.
- Must effectively multi-task, manage time-sensitive deadlines, and exhibit exceptional organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Be accessible, proactive, dependable, and attentive to detail.
- Proficient with Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office applications.
- Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and to exercise discretion and good judgment.
- Forward-thinking attitude, excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to take direction and work well with others.
- Reasonable commuting distance to the Century City office (hybrid in-office/work-from-home schedule)
Preferred Experience:
- Familiarity with:
- Legal and financial institution processes and records.
- Experience with document management systems, including metadata fields of entry
- Prior internship, paralegal, or document management work experience in a field that develops the skills required for the functions and responsibilities of the position.
