About the role

The Clinical Workflow Coordinator is responsible for analyzing, designing, implementing, and optimizing clinical workflows to improve operational efficiency, patient outcomes, provider satisfaction, and regulatory compliance. This role serves as a liaison between clinical staff, operational leaders, and technology teams to ensure clinical processes support organizational goals and best practices.

The Clinical Workflow Coordinator collaborates with physicians, nurses, clinical support staff, and IT teams to identify workflow challenges, implement process improvements, support technology adoption, and drive continuous quality improvement initiatives across clinical settings.

What your impact will be:

Clinical Workflow Analysis & Design

  • Conduct discovery sessions with clinical and operational stakeholders to understand current-state workflows.
  • Facilitate the collection of customer workflow requirements to support system design.
  • Analyze clinical processes and identify opportunities for workflow optimization and standardization.
  • Translate clinical requirements into EHR configuration recommendations.
  • Facilitate workflow redesign sessions that improve efficiency, usability, and patient safety.
  • Document future-state workflow designs and implementation recommendations.

EHR Implementation & Configuration Support

  • Collaborate with implementation consultants to configure EHR workflows based on client requirements.
  • Validate system design against clinical operational needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Facilitate client testing efforts by ensuring test scripts are completed according to recommended workflow standards.
  • Participate in system testing, integrated testing and workflow validation activities.
  • Assess the impact of requested workflow changes and provide recommendations.

Clinical Subject Matter Expertise

  • Serve as the clinical expert during implementation projects.
  • Advise clients on industry best practices related to documentation, medication management, patient flow, and clinical operations.
  • Support discussions with nursing leadership, physicians, clinical educators, and operational leaders.
  • Escalate clinical safety concerns and workflow risks when identified.

Training & Change Management

  • Partner with training resources to develop workflow-based training programs.
  • Review and validate training materials to ensure alignment with clinical practice.
  • Support super-user programs and adoption initiatives.
  • Assist client teams in managing operational transformation resulting from EHR implementation.

Quality, Compliance & Patient Safety

  • Ensure workflows align with applicable regulatory and accreditation requirements.
  • Identify potential patient safety concerns and workflow risks.
  • Participate in quality assurance and usability reviews.
  • Support best practices for clinical documentation and compliance.

Client Relationship Management

  • Build trusted relationships with client leadership and project stakeholders.
  • Facilitate workshops, workflow reviews, and solution demonstrations.
  • Present recommendations and implementation strategies to executive and operational audiences.
  • Support customer success initiatives throughout the implementation lifecycle.

Project Support

  • Utilize CRM systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, JIRA, Helix, Confluence) to track progress, document issues, and support troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with the project team to ensure on-time, high-quality project delivery.
  • Understand and work toward Harris Healthcare’s implementation, revenue, and performance objectives.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned,

What we look for:

Required/Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Health Informatics, or a related healthcare field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of clinical, operational, or healthcare IT experience.
  • Experience working with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
  • Knowledge of clinical and hospital workflows in acute care or ambulatory care.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Travel Required: Yes – as needed up to 40%
