About this Role

The Staff Accountant will support the department with daily, monthly and quarterly tasks, including but not limited to, preparing journal entries as assigned, performing account reconciliations, managing intercompany billings, completing department financial and forecast reviews, and assisting with ad hoc projects.  This role is responsible for ensuring financial integrity, adherence to U.S. GAAP, and compliance with internal controls and corporate policies for assigned areas.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare journal entries and maintain proper supporting documentation and review evidence;
  • Maintain and reconcile select balance sheet accounts, including but not limited to: cash, prepaids expenses, and other asset and liability accounts;
  • Prepare cash reconciliations for corporate bank accounts;
  • Assist with prepaid entries and the associated amortization, as well as reconcile the accounts and maintain a monthly schedule of prepaids to ensure capture of new items and renewals;
  • Prepare and upload monthly Intercompany billing packages: review supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy and prepare any adjusting entries identified during the review process;
  • Assist with monthly intercompany reconciliations and tie-outs, and work with individual operating units for adjustments as needed;
  • Record and review intercompany loans and settlements of intercompany trade balances, working with Treasury, Tax, and operating units;
  • Process and upload monthly PCARD transactions, review data for proper coding, and follow up with Treasury and departments to resolve open items;
  • Assist with the monthly review and distribution of department profit & loss statements variance analysis, including preparing any adjusting entries identified during the review process or communicated by the department heads;
  • Collect responses from department managers regarding unusual items and variances to prior year actuals and forecast;
  • Adhere to company standards, policies, and procedures;
  • Ensure that all responsibilities adhere to Sarbanes-Oxley internal control requirements;
  • Assist with internal and external audit requests for interim and year-end testing phases;
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including process automation, workflow enhancements, and internal control strengthening; and
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties and projects as assigned.

What You'll Bring

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • 3 to 5 years of experience working in finance/accounting or similar function.
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP

 

Preferred Education and Experience

  • JD Edwards ERP experience is preferred
  • OneStream consolidation tool experience is preferred
