Position Summary

Position headquarters flexible within the PG&E Service Territory. This position is "hybrid"; employee will be required to visit their assigned headquarters or other meeting locations in the service area as needed (frequency will vary but expected to be at least a few days per month). This job will also require periodic travel to field-based job sites as necessary and appropriate. Frequency of travel will vary depending on specific project facts and circumstances. Subject to change, based on business needs. 

 

PG&E’s Power Generation Utility Owned Generation (UOG) Portfolio Strategy organization is responsible for providing leadership, guidance, and support to Power Generation and other PG&E functional areas, including to the following:

  • Development and implementation of PG&E’s UOG True North Strategy, pursuant to which UOG is a recognized pillar in the Energy Supply and Load, Decarbonization, and Transmission TNS workstreams.
  • Development of overarching lifecycle strategies for all UOG technologies, including hydro, natural gas, solar, and battery energy storage.
  • Development of a pipeline of new UOG projects necessary to meet the growing clean energy needs of our customers, improve reliability of the bulk electric system, and support the implementation of load management projects, including drafting and negotiation of proposals and securing the necessary regulatory approvals for construction.
  • Development and implementation of disposition strategies to optimize the content of the UOG portfolio for the benefit of PG&E’s customers, including strategies for the retirement, decommissioning, and sale and transfer of generation facilities.
  • Evaluation of new technologies to deploy as part of the UOG portfolio in support of creating a GHG-free generation resource for PG&E customers.
  • Lead and/or support decision-making analyses for significant facility investment proposals.
  • Draft and negotiate new and/or complex agreements with 3rd parties.
