This Opportunity
Reporting to the EVP, Healthcare, the Director, Academic Subscriber Program will expand strategic engagements with Academic Research Organizations interested in conducting research with real world data. You will leverage your clinical research expertise and deep familiarity with the academic community to demonstrate the value of Truveta to prospective customers and drive adoption of Truveta Studio in the Academic Research space. As the Director of Truveta’s subscriber program, you will have a strong background in health care, real world data (RWD), and research skills necessary to analyze RWD.
In this role, you will:
- Utilize in-depth medical and Real-World Data (RWD) knowledge to demonstrate Truveta Studio's suitability to fulfill academic medical center research needs
- Own the Business Development effort to promote Truveta Studio's adoption and use by academic medical centers
- Craft customized demos and direct technical discussions, highlighting Truveta Studio's potential value for specific diseases of interest at academic medical centers
- Assist academic medical centers to identify potential grant opportunities and provide data or analytics support for their grant applications '
- Develop and implement scalable processes and systems to support business expansion, including managing the transition of newly acquired customers to the customer success team
- Process inbound prospects, establish contact with the lead, complete qualification and connect them with the appropriate Account Executive
- Independently present Truveta Studio to emerging academic researchers, and demonstrate Truveta’s value proposition to academic leaders
- Successfully manage and update Salesforce pipelines for academic customer segment
- Contribute to conversations with Marketing and Sales to drive opportunities for new research partnerships
- Model strict adherence to Truveta principles in support of ethical innovation and commit to ongoing training on key topics like privacy, ethics, and security.
Key Qualifications:
- An advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., MD, PhD in Epidemiology/Statistics, etc)
- Minimum 8 years' experience in healthcare data and analytics, preferably with Real-World Data (RWD) application in the context of academic medical centers
- Proven ability to maintain and expand long-term partnerships with academic medical centers
- Understanding of research funding processes
- Comfortable with understanding and explaining populations queries, and the ability to learn new programming languages. Familiarity with R, SQL, and/or Python and notebooks is a plus but not a necessity. Not expected to develop advanced applications but should be able to present coding examples for clarification and appreciate the work required to develop in the Studio platform.
- Demonstrated success in communicating effectively with executives, and in translating complex clinical research and domain-specific topics into simplified language for a non-research audience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience developing meaningful external relationships
- Prior experience in a start-up setting, and having the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment is preferred
- Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM and various email automation tools (preferred)
- Experience with conveying the Voice of the Customer to internal stakeholders
