Position Overview

The Information Technology team, located in Atlanta, Georgia, is seeking a SAP Technical ABAP Lead Developer! Within Novelis’s Global Applications Center of Excellence (COE), the lead SAP developer is responsible for Co-ordinating/leading Offshore/onshore Developers, Coding, Provide Architectural mentorship. This individual will have the opportunity to work closely with the Functional IT Leads to translate functional requirements into code-based solutions!

• Act as a trusted advisor for business and IT, providing clear technology and process direction to collaborators and performing the technical validation of supplier solutions to ensure that they are in line with Company standards.
• Understands business requirements, critical success factors, fit gap to cutover, launch and post-implementation support
• Develop and promote technical design standards, best practices, guidelines, and procedures
• Provide architectural mentorship and actively engaged definition and constant development of technology strategy
• Continuous development of own skills; Mentor and assist in development of juniors
• Adhere to Methodologies – Ensure quality, compliance and security is built-in on all areas of work
• Stay ahead of evolving SAP product offerings; Contribute to knowledge base and lead by example
• Ability to read design documentation to deliver accurate estimates for development (including analysis, development, technical unit testing)
• Support improvements and incidents for business critical and high priority integrations involving ERP and other applications
• Collaborate with teams to bring technical innovation, such as creation and usage of API’s for business scenarios
• Provides technical design recommendations ensuring scalability of the solution
• Actively participate in the SAP community or practice as Integration leader
• Expert in UI5 (Fiori) configuration and development using WebIDE/Eclipse
• BTP (Business Technology Platform) experience nice to have
• Proficient in developing OData gateway services including CDS views
• Experienced with AMDP(ABAP Managed Database procedure)
• Experienced in BRF+
• Custom objects include all RICEFW – with solid understanding in Idocs, Smartforms, Enhancements (user-exits, BADI’s, etc)
• Knowledge in SD, MM, PP, FI/CO, APO, PM required
• Leadership skills to work with and manage offshore developers
• Ability to manage own transports as well as offshore transports
• Knowledge of ChaRM transport management – optional, will be trained
• Ensures alignment to organization, project standards and documentation standards
• Promotes the application maintenance, project methodology and processes standards defined by IT
• Documents unit testing, technical specifications
• Actively supports the outsourcing partner when needed or requested by the Operations Support Lead

Challenges to expect:

• Responsible for developing code that supports different plants yet the solution needs to remain scalable and global
• Conducts and reviews coding solutions that are developed by external, offshore resources

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in IT or related field
• Minimum 5 years’ in S/4, ABAP
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in oData development
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Fiori development and troubleshooting
• Leadership ability required
• Must thrive in a team oriented, highly collaborative workplace
• Very good communication skills, ability to co-ordinate with project team and work independently.
• Must be able to prioritize across multiple projects and initiatives in a global setting.

• Ability to apply technology and consulting to tackle a client business problem.
