The Night Working Shop Foreman will provide customer service while supervising service technicians who are making the repairs needed to put the customer on the road in a timely manner.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform skilled mechanical and fabrication work in the repair and overhaul of equipment
- Coordinate activities of mechanics in the diagnosis and repair of class 7 and 8 trucks
- Open and close repair orders
- Assumes responsibilities of the Service Manager and Shop Foreman as needed
- Trains and aids in the development of mechanical skills of mechanics
- Oversee operational safety and compliance with environmental laws and regulations
- Coordinate repair and maintenance services to obtain maximum utilization of equipment and prevent operational delays in other departments
Qualifications
Education/Training or Experience:
- High School graduate or GED required
- Diploma from Technical College or equivalent experience
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills required
- 1 years’ experience in heavy-duty truck repair
- CDL preferred

- Communicate information and ideas in writing or verbally so others will understand
- Give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
- Resolve complaints and problems as they arise from customers and employees
- Develop and motivate a team of up to 20 employees
- Perform basic math as well as calculating figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, and statistics
- Interact well with managers, customers, and the general public
- Must have a valid driver’s license and meet insurability requirements
- CDL preferred
- Must be able to work overtime when necessary
- Willing to continue additional training when requested by management
