Technician III - AutoCAD Civil 3D - Civil Engineering

Overview

This position is responsible for providing technical support to engineers using AutoCAD Civil 3D for commercial and/or residential land development projects. 

Responsibilities

• Prepare and/or revise construction and planning documents as well as exhibits within company standards from redlines for a variety of projects
• Coordinate and communicate with project team in engineering, production, design and management to meet overall project objectives and deadlines
• Understand and use established company standards for drafting including layer names, line and character styles, drawings and window names, and file names for sheet layout
• Analyze sketches, notes and other input material to determine and plan the best approach to develop and complete drawings with minimal supervision
• Inform Project Manager(s) of progress on assigned projects and request work when needed
• Maintain organized work area to allow access of project information by other team members
• Flexible in work assignments and team assignments

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or certificate of completion in Computer-Aided Design/Applied Science; preferably with a civil design specialization
• 5 years' experience using AutoCAD for civil design
• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Working knowledge of GIS is a plus
• Detail oriented and high quality work product
• Effective communications skills, both oral and written skills
• Self-starter
• Ability to work interdependently within a team environment
• Must be flexible to changes in work assignments on short notice and/or on a daily basis as changes occur in project workload
• Must be able to work Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm, with occasional overtime
