Position Overview:
The Production Engineering Intern will assist the Production team in various tasks related to manufacturing operations, process improvement, and quality control. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced production environment and contribute to the continuous improvement of our manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Process Improvement: Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance production efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
• Production Support: Provide support to the production floor by assisting with daily operations, monitoring production schedules, and ensuring timely delivery of products.
• Data Collection: Collect and analyze production data to track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as cycle time, yield, and efficiency, and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Quality Control: Support quality control activities by conducting inspections, testing products, and ensuring compliance with quality standards and specifications.
• Documentation: Help maintain and update production documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Safety Compliance: Assist in promoting a safe working environment by participating in safety audits, reporting hazards, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, maintenance, and quality teams to address production challenges and implement solutions.
• Lean Manufacturing: Participate in Lean Manufacturing initiatives, such as 5S, Kaizen events, and value stream mapping, to improve overall production efficiency.
Qualifications:
• Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• Technical Skills: Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control, and lean manufacturing principles.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations.
• Communication Skills: Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail in conducting inspections, maintaining records, and following safety protocols.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with manufacturing software (e.g., ERP systems) is a plus.
• Problem-Solving: Effective problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing production challenges.
