The Novelis Regional Procurement team is seeking a Procurement Operations Lead. The person in this role will report to the Sr. Manager of Procurement Operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient supply of raw materials, direct and indirect goods, and services to the Cluster of Manufacturing facilities with a strong focus on Safety, Quality, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), and Innovation.  The POL identifies risks to operations across the suppliers’ value chains and defines mitigating actions.  This position will identify risks to operations across the suppliers’ value chains and define mitigating actions.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities: 

  • Alignment with Regional and Global Sourcing Leads to provide full service to the plant in terms of commercial agreements, cost management, cost containment, and continuous productivity improvements for all purchased goods & services. To maximize results, the POL will also proactively work with Plant Leadership to identify new opportunities and launch multifunctional cost reduction projects in close cooperation with the appropriate category teams.
  • Collaborate with the Center of Excellence (COE) Procurement Team to ensure Production Supplies and Services are delivered on-time and in a quality-conforming manner. The POL will also work to ensure that optimum pricing is met with a TCO mindset.
  • Provide Supplier Quality and Relationship Management services to the plant, resolving any quality related issues from existing suppliers, and offering new supplier opportunities to drive competition and/or resolve new sourcing needs. This will be done in coordination with the SQRM, Category Management, and Center of Excellence (COE) Procurement Teams. In addition, the incumbent will focus on identifying and managing risks to operations created through vulnerabilities in the suppliers’ value chains.
  • The POL will coordinate and lead all efforts to eliminate sole source, single source supply to all Plants. This will require collaboration and coordination with Technical Services, Commercial Teams, and Quality Teams to run trials on alternative supply.
  • Work closely cross-functionally to ensure that each Plant has all the spare parts required on-hand by actively supporting the Storeroom team in agreement with the Regional Storeroom Leader, the Regional Category Managers, the Global Category Managers, and the Reliability Team.
  • Align the Plant Procurement activities and initiatives with the plant objectives by being an active player of the Plant Leadership teams within their respective Value Stream.

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • BS/BA Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or similar
  • 3-7 years of procurement experience and influential leadership experience
  • Mature Business Acumen with the ability to create, collaborate, and leverage a working knowledge of financials
  • Experience in Negotiation and Commercial Terms Management
  • Highly effective communications in all levels of the organization
  • High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office; SAP and/or Oracle experience is a plus
  • Enjoy a Hybrid Work Schedule that requires four (4) days on-site at our Davenport, IA site while also having the flexibility to work remotely one (1) day each week unless business needs dictate differently. 

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Able to work cross-functionally within a Manufacturing environment
  • Communication, alignment, and management of metrics to support seamless cooperation between plant procurement teams and business objectives
  • MBA a plus
