Job Title: Outreach Coordinator

Job Summary:

The Outreach Coordinator is responsible for coordinating agency-wide outreach efforts to identify and communicate with homeless and at-risk veterans who may be eligible for the Supportive Services for Veteran Families program (“SSVF”). Under the supervision of the Development Director, the Outreach Coordinator works closely with Leadership Staff and Site Directors to share best practices, align outreach activities, measure the effectiveness of those activities, and design and implement new activities that utilize all available communication channels to reach the target client population.

Job Duties:

  1. Work closely with the Development Director, Leadership Staff, and Site Directors to develop and implement a coordinated, agency-wide outreach plan and calendar.
  2. Promote the SSVF program as well as Nation’s Finest’s mission, values, and service offerings to ensure the benefits of the program and Nation’s Finest’s role as an SSVF grantee are understood by eligible veterans and the community at large.
  3. Prepare and deliver targeted digital, print, and in-person communications (e.g., educational press releases, social media posts educating the community, presentations, etc.) to community partners, local outlets, and other veteran groups and social services agencies.
  4. Adhere to the policies and procedures outlined in the SSVF Program Guide.
  5. Develop and maintain lists and databases of successful key contacts in the community.
  6. Perform other related duties as directed.

Requirements

Competencies:

Excellent written and oral communications skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products.

Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud suite of products.

Treat all clients and coworkers with dignity and respect.

Ability to work in a team environment and meet regularly with senior program staff to coordinate activities, propose changes, and provide outreach updates.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Flexibility and willingness to perform multiple jobs in a work environment with changing priorities.

Ability to follow through on assigned tasks.

Ability to communicate with vulnerable populations, public community groups, and various levels of staff.

Able to maintain a cooperative working relationship with residents and staff.


Qualifications:

Four-year college degree in Communications, Marketing, or similar, or equivalent combination of education and professional work experience.

Experience in the nonprofit sector is desirable but not required.

At least 6 months’ experience working in a volunteer or professional capacity assisting with the management of an organization’s social media presence.

$25.00 - $28.00 per hour to start, DOE.
