The PositionStrategy, Capital & Engagement (SCE) team – LMI’s hub for insurance business strategy, capital management, and cross-functional engagement — is seeking a high-performing Analyst to join our team. This is a unique opportunity for an intellectually curious, collaborative, and results-oriented individual who possesses the DNA of both insurance and investments. Reporting to a Director and working alongside two Associates, the Analyst will support key strategic initiatives across SCE’s core mandates.
Responsibilities:
- Analytical Support: Deliver comprehensive analytical support across key functions — including financial modeling, income and capital attribution process, and risk-return analytics within LMG’s capital management framework; produce high-impact dashboards and reports for executive audiences; provide diligence support for M&A, risk financing, and other capital deployment initiatives.
- Strategy and Engagement: Drive strategic collaboration across Corporate functions, U.S. Retail Markets (USRM), Global Risk Solutions (GRS), and international business units by managing action items and coordinating stakeholder requests.
- Client Portfolio Management (CPM): Support the full lifecycle of CPM activities for Liberty’s international portfolios (~$20 billion assets under management), including inquiry triage, solution design, stakeholder engagement, and quarterly reporting.
- Project Management: Manage multiple concurrent projects, coordinating with internal teams and external partners to ensure successful execution, delivery, and impact.
- Research and Market & Business Intelligence: Generate timely insights on insurance business strategies & strategic transactions (e.g., M&A, reinsurance, partnership between alternative investment managers and insurance companies) and performance across Liberty’s lines of business.
- AI, Automation and Tool-Building: Serve as the team’s AI and automation champion. Identify workflow inefficiencies and deliver scalable, technology-enabled solutions. Collaborate with LMI Product and Embedded Tactical Development team to transform manual processes and build intuitive, self-service tools and dashboards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, mathematics, or a related field
- 1–3 years of analytical experience in investments, insurance, banking, consulting or a similar environment
- A combination of exceptional quantitative and qualitative skills, sound decision-making ability, and strong written and verbal communication skills; Producer of detail-oriented, consistently accurate and high-quality work product; Proven ability to translate quantitative findings into clear, compelling narratives for senior audiences
- Strong interest in the intersection of insurance and investment; familiarity with insurance capital concepts (e.g., insurance company financial statements, economic capital, rating agency and regulatory capital models, reinsurance, sidecars, and M&A) and a demonstrated curiosity to master them quickly
- Desire and professionalism necessary to work collaboratively with internal and external constituencies including executive and senior management (across the insurance business, portfolio managers, and consultants)
- Advanced proficiency with ChatGPT, Excel and PowerPoint; working knowledge of SQL or Python, and a BI tool
