Where the chemistry happens…

We are looking for a candidate like you who is capable of successfully supporting occupational safety with an emphasis on industrial hygiene at the BASF Hannibal Site.  The Hannibal Site manufactures a variety of crop protection chemicals in an effective, safe, and environmentally acceptable manner.  You will also provide technical support and guidance to help develop and drive sustainable systems for occupational safety and industrial hygiene (OS/IH) as needed through a shared HUB services concept.

 

 

You Create Chemistry By...

• Leading EHS programs at the assigned site(s).

• Serving as a technical resource on occupational safety regulatory compliance matters for OSHA and applicable industry standards as managed by the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH).

• Assisting in the development and delivery of EHS training programs both for new employees and for changes made to existing EHS requirements, with a focus on OS/IH requirements and topics.

• Conducting required testing and monitoring to document compliance with regulatory and corporate OS/IH requirements, prepare required OS/IH reports, and other reporting documentation.

• Representing the Site and BASF at meetings with federal and state regulatory agencies.

• Investigating accident/incidents and develop effective corrective actions.

• Develop effective working relationships with site management, employees, and EHS community.

• Drive change, continuous improvement in industrial hygiene performance and strategic business decisions.

If you have...

• Bachelors of Science degree in a technical discipline such as Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety, Chemistry or related science  

  • Masters degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety or related health field is a plus

• Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) is highly desirable - if you don't hold a current CIH, ability to achieve certification within 3 years, will be a condition of employment.

• Moderate, relevant, hands-on experience in Industrial Hygiene in manufacturing settings and up-to-date knowledge of related technologies and regulations

• Professional certification(s) in safety and environmental practices, is a plus

• Strong organizational and analytical skills

• Proficient skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PPT, Outlook)
