What We Offer 

The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. Although the full range is posted, the target pay range for this position is $23.33-29.16. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but are not limited to: 

  • A guaranteed life-long monthly pension, once vested after 5 years of service 

  • 457B Retirement Plan 

  • 140 hours of PTO earned within first year + 11 paid holidays, 1 personal holiday and 1 volunteer day per year

Location 

In this position you can expect to work in person 5 days per week. You will be located mainly at the St Francis and Rocky Mountain Human Services locations, but may fill in at other locations as needed.

About our Assistance Programs

The dedicated staff at Denver Human Services (DHS) are here to listen and advise, helping people apply for public assistance programs. The assistance programs provide essential services including food, cash and medical benefits, childcare, child support, and general assistance to eligible Denver residents in financial need. Other assistance programs include Employment First and Veteran Services, which work with Denver residents and veterans on job placement and retention.

The mission of the Family & Adult Assistance Division (FAAD) at Denver Human Services is to provide financial support, food and medical assistance to the community while also connecting additional wrap-around resources that promote the well-being and long-term self-sufficiency for adults and families.

Specifically, as the Castro FAAD Lobby/EBT Lead  you will: 

  • Provide leadership and general knowledge to support staff, engage in over the shoulder assistance, handle escalations, and provide leadership to management when needed

  • Provide professional and respectful customer service when working with internal and external customers

  • Manage inboxes, create case folders, and respond to internal/external partner and customer inquiries

  • Gain general knowledge to provide responses to customer questions

  • Complete accurate data entry

  • Reconcile Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT)  logs

  • Commute to different Neighborhood Resource Sites regularly  

  • Collaborate with community partners

Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics:  

  • Great communication skills and a dedication to service leadership

  • Excellent customer service experience in field, including returning calls and meeting with clients

  • Time management skills

  • Technologically savvy/experienced - Microsoft, Excel, TEAMS, Adobe Acrobat

  • Previous professional experience with Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) and Colorado Benefits Management System (CBMS)

  • Bilingual is a plus, but not required

Required Minimum Qualifications 

  • Education requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED,  HiSET or TASC Certificate. 

  • Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of clerical experience which must include two (2) years of experience at the level of Administrative Support Assistant III. 

  • Education/Experience Equivalency: Additional
