About the role

Your role

The General Ledger Specialist performs general accounting activities which are complex and broad in nature, specializing in general ledger and financial reporting.

Key responsibilities and challenges

  • Calculate, prepare and post specific and ad-hoc journal entries as part of Month End Close and day to day operations
  • Prepare Bank Reconciliations and Balance Sheet Account Reconciliations (Assets and Liability accounts)
  • Perform analysis on specific Balance Sheet accounts and assist local finance teams in clearing of open items
  • Maintain Fixed Asset Registers and calculate and post monthly depreciation charges
  • Responsible for performing specific Month End Close activities, adhering to the Month End Close timetable and global and office specific Month - End Close deadlines
  • Responsible for assigned KPI’s to meet customer needs including meeting financial reporting deadline
  • Ensure that service quality is maintained in performing daily operations within global General Ledger Department
  • Maintain high quality process documentation
  • Build excellent working relationships with the Finance and Shared Service staff in the local offices
  • Readiness to participate in process transitions and improvement projects

Our requirements

Experience

  • Minimum 2-3 years of professional experience in General Ledger and desirable experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, within other SSC/BPO’s
  • Master’s Degree in Finance and Accounting or related faculty
  • Additional accounting qualifications, i.e. ACCA or CIMA certification in progress
  • Solid knowledge of general accounting principles, practices and procedures
  • Understanding of SLAs, KPIs, process documentation, SOPs
  • Practical experience in process transition from Local Offices to Shared Service Centre 
  • Continues improvement mindset, familiarity with Lean Six Sigma concept

Office skills

  • SAP
  • Microsoft office
  • High competence in MS Excel mandatory

Languages

  • Fluent English

Location

  • Warsaw - we have hybrid working model with 2 days per week at the office
