About this Role
DebtBook is looking for a Technical Lead (Full Stack) to lead projects and drive improvements across multiple engineering teams. With a focus on customer satisfaction and overall business success, this person will own the projects that will allow us to quickly and easily release our work. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Engineering, this individual will serve as a key team member of the team by owning and driving continuous improvement of our development processes.
What You’ll Do
- Lead feature development in partnership with other engineers and provide technical oversight, direction, and decision-making when needed
- Partner closely with and provide technical direction to engineering teams
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members
- Work across engineering teams to break down work and implement new patterns
- Break down requirements into tickets to be shipped frequently, not in large chunks
- Write code and tests to deliver updates to the application, releasing new code weekly
- Review merge requests to increase our velocity and efficiency
- Receive, integrate, and action feedback quickly; take other engineers along in the journey
What You Bring
- 6+ years of experience in Software Engineering
- Experience leading technical projects in a Team Lead or Technical Lead capacity
- Professional experience with Ruby on Rails, React, and SQL
- Professional experience writing tests in Rspec or Minitest
- Great communication and coordination skills
- Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
Technologies We Use
- Our tech stack includes Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, and React
- Our app is hosted in AWS and we have CI/CD pipelines and deployments in GitLab
Interview Process
Our interview process includes both behavioral and technical assessments, and is meant to give you a sense of what it’s like to be an engineer at DebtBook.
Your first conversation will be with a recruiter from the Talent team, and as you progress in the process, you’ll have the opportunity to connect with the hiring manager, other engineers on the team, and your partners in Product.
Compensation
- Annual salary range is: $145,000-$170,000 based on experience
- This role is eligible for an up to 10% annual bonus
