Optima Dermatology is growing and we are actively seeking Medical Assistants to join our expanding team across Southern New Hampshire, including Bedford, Manchester, Salem, and Concord. About the Role

As a Medical Assistant at Optima Dermatology, you will play an essential role supporting providers, preparing patients for treatment, and helping deliver exceptional dermatologic care. This opportunity is ideal for experienced Medical Assistants as well as motivated candidates looking to grow within a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Gap-year students are welcome to apply, with on-the-job training and a pathway to CDT within 6–12 months.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare exam rooms between patients and maintain appropriate clinical supplies
  • Escort patients, obtain vitals, document medical history, and prepare patients for exams
  • Assist providers with procedures such as biopsies, suture removal, and minor surgeries
  • Package and process specimens for outside laboratory testing
  • Coordinate diagnostic tests, referrals, and follow-up care
  • Communicate with pharmacies, hospitals, and external partners regarding patient care
  • Manage pre-certifications, referrals, and documentation in the EMR
  • Monitor inventory, check medication expiration dates, and order supplies
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and confidential clinical environment
  • Collaborate with physicians and leadership to support practice success

 

Qualifications

  • Dermatology Medical Assistant experience preferred, but not required
  • Licensed Medical Assistant or advanced nursing education preferred
  • Experience with patient vitals, sterile techniques, documentation, and lab procedures
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-focused environment
  • Knowledge of patient confidentiality best practices
  • Experience with Modernizing Medicine / EMA EMR is highly preferred
