Press Operator

Summary:

 

Introduction to the operation of the printing press.  Includes handling of newsprint rolls, preparing for operation, plating, running of the press, and cleaning and routine maintenance.

What you will do:

• Under supervision, will train on operation of the press units, including plating, setting ink and rollers, webbing, and operating controls

• Newsprint roll handling, newsprint warehouse operations, and reel room operations

• Operate forklift/clamp truck in a safe, competent manner

• Press maintenance tasks

• Work in a safe manner using all appropriate safety equipment, including guards and safe buttons

What you will bring:

• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing

• Specific vision abilities including close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

• Regular and reliable attendance

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

• Machine operation experience preferred

• Warehouse operations experience, including fork lift operation, preferred

Work Environment:

• Operates in a warehouse and printing plant environment

• Routinely uses pallet jacks and forklifts

• Work with chemicals, loud noise, dusty areas and moving parts safely and wear hearing protection the entire shift

• This job is not a remote position; employee will report to a production plant

Benefits and Compensation:

The hourly wage is $21.00. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to geographic location, education, work experience, time in role, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, the Company offers eligible employees a variety of benefits including medical, dental, life and disability insurance, 401k, as well as paid time off and select paid holidays (all benefits are based on eligibility).
