Worker Designation – This role is hybrid. This means you will be expected to report to one of our Aflac offices located in Columbia, SC/ Columbus, GA for at least 60% of the work week. You will work from your home (within the continental US) for the remaining portion of the work week. Details of this schedule will be discussed with your leadership.

What does it take to be successful in this role?
- Understanding of commissions, production credit, bonuses, the sales organization and structure
- General understanding of basic bookkeeping or accounting concepts and terminology, and the ability to perform basic math calculations
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with internal and external customers
- Proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office suite software and Business Objects
Education & Experience Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in business administration or a related field
- 0 - 2 years of related work experience
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Education & Experience Preferred
- 1 year insurance industry experience (internal and/or external)
- 1 year of experience as a Contract Specialist, Sales Compensation Specialist, or Agent Validation Specialist
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Under general supervision, develops relationships and serves as a dedicated resource to resolve routine service requests for brokers as it relates to sales contracting, compensation, acquisitions, and production, including but not limited to agent validation, billing/premium, commission setup and errors, retro corrections, and production credit; prepares supporting documentation and performs research for escalated items
- Partners with Group Underwriting in the negotiation and preparation of custom contracts and commission packages for premier brokers; partners with state offices, field force, and broker contacts to confirm enrolling or commissioned agents; verifies contracting/licensing and confirms/declines eligibility; confirms commission packages and splits; tracks and monitors special commission arrangements related to custom cases, pre-enrollment advances, platform fees/cost, per diem payments and third party fees; reviews and processes invoices
- Processes hierarchy promotions, demotions, and changes to commission setups; processes changes to Broker/Agent of Record (BOR/AOR); determines how these changes will affect inforce and new business going forward; completes all required system changes needed as a result of these changes; responsible for processing and adjudicating all broker of record (BOR) requests submitted; identifying and enacting changes in commission payments as a result of BOR; prepares documents for imaging; maintains an up-to-date procedures manual that provides accurate step-by-step procedures to accomplish all assigned tasks
- Prepares communications critical to the field force, payroll accounts, brokers and WWHQ staff on all related matters to ensure that all pertinent parties are well informed and knowledgeable of all aspects that impact desired outcomes requiring a quick turnaround as needed; prepares legal agreements from established documents including assignment of commissions
- Provides action requests to other departments and/or team members to ensure associates’ records are accurate; monitors associates’ records or department reports to ensure criteria for compensation and other incentive/program eligibility is maintained; performs research and calculations to confirm account status, determine under payments or overpayments; prepares the required documentation to generate payment and/or notification; work
