WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

We will soon be founding a separate company in our Agricultural Solutions division, which would then also employ our employees on a permanent basis. To bridge the gap, you will be employed by BASF SE on a temporary basis with the simultaneous binding promise of permanent employment in the new company.

 

Our global research unit Herbicides Early Biology conducts research to improve and support new herbicide lead chemistries. We are currently looking for an experienced team lead to join our team!

• In your new role, you analyze the mode of action of new herbicidal active ingredients. You observe and evaluate market trends, competitive activities as well as scientific university activities and derive relevant insights for your field of work.
• You actively work on developing recommendations for new products, projects and applications as part of the innovation process.
• In addition, you initiate and support market- and customer-oriented projects as well as product developments and document progress and milestones.
• Organizing the workflow in close cooperation with laboratory, project or trial teams as well as taking on the management of less complex projects is part of your tasks.
• You also manage your team members and are responsible for compliance with occupational health as well as safety and environmental regulations.
• Lastly, you clarify technical, patent law, chemical law and economic requirements in close cooperation with specialist departments and the group leader.

WHAT YOU OFFER

• doctorate in biology, biochemistry or a related scientific discipline
• expertise in plant physiology, plant cell biology and plant molecular biology as well as in handling chemicals
• expertise in microscopy incl. CLSM as well as familiarity with processes in research laboratories, scientific work and relevant analysis methods
• experience in generating scientific data and with systems for processing experimental data along with a high motivation to contribute to the development of new data analysis systems as part of the digital data strategy
• experience in project management and relevant software as well as knowledge in the field of environment, health and safety (EHS) and patent law (basics)
• excellent communication, presentation and moderation skills in German and English
