Directs the day-to-day execution for a defined segment of the sales organization, focused on closing business among prospect accounts. Has responsibility for a team of Business Development Managers, who oversee day-to-day execution of individual business developers. May be a regional sales leader or may be a segment/market sales leader (channel, vertical market, product unit, etc.). This role represents the second layer of management, above individual contributor sales representatives.
