Collins Aerospace is looking for a Project Engineering Manager to lead our Hydro-Mechanical product line. You’ll manage design testing, control manufacturing costs, drive cost reduction, and oversee supplier and engineering change activities. Working closely with engineering, operations, and supply chain teams, you’ll ensure projects stay on schedule and budget while advancing next-gen aerospace technologies. What You Will Do 

  • Execute Design Verification Testing and Qualification Testing according to customer and regulatory approved test plans. 

  • Manage Total Manufacturing Cost (TMC) for products and lead cost reduction initiatives for component and/or fuel metering product lines. 

  • Provide detailed staffing plans using the Collins Manpower Planning Tool (Cobra), including plans across all disciplines and outsourcing strategies that meet project milestones and budget. 

  • Drive and implement Relentless Root Cause & Corrective Action (RRCA) processes using applicable CORE tools to improve design integrity and enhance Engineering Standard Work (ESW) practices. 

  • Coordinate all Engineering Change (CR) activities for drawings and solid models. 

  • Drive project execution of technical requirements within budget and schedule by implementing the Program Management System Standard (PMSS) and the Integrated Product Development (IPD) Team process. 

  • Coordinate activities with Supply Chain Management and the Mechanical Engine Systems (MES) Operations team to meet production yield targets, as well as collaborate with MRO for aftermarket and spare demand. 

Qualifications You Must Have 

  • Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience 

Qualifications We Prefer 

  • Experience managing complex projects and a strong understanding of the Earned Value Management System (EVMS) 

  • Hands-on experience with fuel and hydraulic test rigs and systems, including hydraulic actuation and fuel controls. 

  • Experienced in applying mechanical and hydro-mechanical principles to analyze hardware and recommend corrective actions, with a proven ability to develop detailed test plans and technical reports. 

  • Proficient in conducting engineering investigations and tests, with the ability to perform basic data analysis, processing, and plotting using MATLAB or equivalent tools. 

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with experience leading and collaborating on cross-functional team projects. 

  • Familiar with PLM Teamcenter for product lifecycle management, with preferred working knowledge of SAP.
