About the role

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Elicits requirements from stakeholders to determine desired business process impact through interviews, data collection, questionnaires and other project management tools to ensure that a technology application is the solution.

• Critically evaluates information gathered from multiple sources, identifies system constraints and other issues which do not meet desired application needs. Prioritizes and distinguishes user requests from underlying needs. 

• Collaborates with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and managers to establish the technical vision.

• Facilitates an evaluation and brainstorming meeting to effectively analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance with appropriate systems and developers/engineers to ensure technology application can meet the stakeholder’s needs.

• Prepares and delivers business requirements documents and functional requirement documents for stakeholder approval and may be involved in documenting use cases and test scripts.

• Schedules and participates in stakeholder decision meetings to determine if project is approved.

• Facilitates team-working sessions to elicit accurate information, capture requirements, and document project accomplishments.

• Ensures team projects are on schedule, meets departmental standards, and requestor’s expectations.

• Develops project plan utilizing standard/best in class project management techniques, e.g., change control process.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Core Skills:

• Ability to listen and document client requirements to be able to share with project team.

• Ability to ask succinct, clarifying questions to demonstrate solid understanding of clients’ needs and requirements.

• Solid communication and relationship building skills for interacting with a diverse group of stakeholders.

• Solid planning and organization skills.

• Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, Visio, OneNote, and Outlook

• Ability to document requirements using tools such as flow charts or graphic models.

• Ability to work on simultaneous projects and manage timelines.

• Ability to work alone and as a team member.

• Ability to brainstorm, identify issues, and formulate cogent recommendations to clients.

Level I:

• Participate in client information gathering sessions and document requirements for project team. 

• Lead client meetings during the project life cycle that provide information about the project timeline and stages.

• Demonstrate ability to communicate to stakeholders about technical requirements in an understandable manner.

• Demonstrate solid understanding of product life cycle.

• Ability to communicate with a variety of people holding different organizational roles to identify operational and application requirements.

Level II:

• Ability to facilitate all client meetings.

• Handles escalated client issues about project.

• Selects project lead and team.

• Ability to manage the entire project life cycle through all stages.

• Possess business and technical knowledge to review workflow, documentation and user information/surveys, and analyze data to identify a solution to a business issue.

• Thorough knowledge of multimedia applications

• Technical writing skills including requirements, design, use cases and test script creation

• Strong understanding of the development process including specification, documentation, quality assurance and production support

Level III:

• Manage highly complex customer project plans.

• Works with minimal supervision.

• Manages cross departmental meetings.

• Manage all soft and hard costs of project for reporting to senior management.

Level IV: 

• Serve as mentor and coach to junior project team members.

• May coach and observe other members in client meetings and provide feedback.

• Present final client delivered solution to department heads/senior level managers.

• Establishes project roadmaps and schedules with input from business groups, business analysts and the development team; creates models, specifications, diagrams and charts to provide direction to development teams.

Education and/or Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, systems design or any other related informat
