We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic team in Rockford, supporting our FAA repair station specializing in ram air turbines, electric power generation, and actuation systems. This role is critical in delivering engineering support to fast-paced MRO operations. 

What You Will Do 

  • Develop and implement solutions to technical issues. 

  • Review existing repair data, technical drawings, and previous repair history for complete mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems and components. 

  • Provide written technical instructions for repairs or modifications to maintenance teams, customers, and regulatory authorities. 

  • Review and analyze test reject data to develop solutions that improve test yield. 

  • Produce technical analyses to ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory, customer, and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) requirements; update and revise technical data in shop procedures accordingly. 

  • Identify and implement process improvements. 

  • Communicate information clearly and respond to administrative and customer queries on technical topics. 

  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities. 

 

Qualifications You Must Have  

  • Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field 

Qualifications We Prefer 

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical discipline. 

  • Prior experience in mechanical systems and/or product support is preferred. 

  • Proficiency in root cause and corrective action (RCCA), lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies. 

  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams on shop floor issues, process development, and continuous improvement efforts. 

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and effectively prioritize tasks.
