About the role

As a Manufacturing Process Automation Engineer for Electric Vehicle (EV) Manufacturing Systems, your role will be to lead the development of the processes, tooling, equipment and manufacturing engineering standards that will be focused on the New Manufacturing Technology Development efforts spanning across the EV Core Manufacturing Commodity Areas including:

  1. Powertrain Propulsion Manufacturing Systems,
    1. e-Drive Assembly Systems – eMotor Rotor / eMotor Stator / Power Unit
    2. Battery Assembly Systems – Battery Tray / Battery Array & Cell / Battery Pack
  2. Vehicle Manufacturing Systems,
    1. Chassis Assembly
    2. Body Assembly
    3.  Final Assembly

These EV Manufacturing Systems, and their associated highly integrated Powertrain Propulsion Manufacturing Systems and Vehicle Manufacturing Systems, will be direct enablers for delivery of the entire Electric Vehicle (EV) Product Portfolio (BEV/PHEV/FHEV).

In addition, the new manufacturing technology and innovations that are developed for each of these EV Manufacturing Core Commodity Areas will also be used extensively within the EV manufacturing facilities that are being deployed globally at Ford Powertrain Operation (PTO) and Vehicle Operation (VO) sites.

What you'll do…

  • Collaborate with key Product Design (PD) and Global Manufacturing Engineering (GME) stakeholders to identify, define and prioritize manufacturing technology development initiatives aligned to global manufacturing objectives:
    • Establish and cascade the Manufacturing Technology Development Roadmaps for the EV Manufacturing Core Commodity Areas
