AGENCY OVERVIEW
Since our founding in 1895 in Marin County as an orphanage – and through subsequent years as Sunny Hills Services – Side by Side has been at the forefront of best practices in child welfare, working with the most vulnerable youth in our community. Today, Side by Side operates in four counties – Marin, Alameda, Sonoma, and Napa – across the Bay Area, reaching nearly 2,000 children, young adults, and family members per year with much-needed services related to behavioral and mental health, early intervention in schools, LGBTQIA+ support, transitional housing for foster youth, and special education.

COMPENSATION
This full-time position has an annual salary of $84,000 to $94,000 depending on experience.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Real Alternatives offers a continuum of transitional housing opportunities for current and former foster youth and/or those on probation ages 18 to 24. We provide an apartment for youth to call home and often support especially vulnerable populations including commercially sexually exploited youth, parenting and pregnant youth, and LGBTQIA+-identified youth.
Real Alternatives provides a safety net environment for participants to take responsibility for their lives in as many areas as possible and develop goals for their future. Supported by our staff, youth learn to budget and pay bills, shop for groceries and cook, live with a roommate, resolve conflict, pursue an education, and pursue and maintain employment. All Real Alternatives clients have access to mental health services and also are supported in building and/or repairing relationships, learning new coping skills, and managing any mental health challenges that may get in their way.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Manager provides program leadership and is responsible for the quality and integrity of service delivery and client outcomes, financial accountability for program budget, hiring and supervision of staff, contract oversight, and compliance with external and internal policies, practices and procedures for the Housing services provided in Alameda County. The Manager reports to the East Bay Regional Director and serves as a member of East Bay’s Leadership Team as well as the agency’s Leadership Forum. The Manager is responsible for the overall design, implementation, monitoring, modification, and evaluation of the agency Housing Programs. The Director represents the program before the county, state, and federal agencies which interact with and oversee the programs and clients served.
