Senior Software Engineer - Software Integrity and Trust

We are looking for a Software Engineer for the Software Integrity and Trust team to build systems that protect Datadog against various forms of supply-chain attacks.

You’ll join at an ideal time to make a big impact: supply-chain attacks are currently the fastest growing topic in security. The attacks we build protections for include malicious dependencies and compromission of git repositories, of the CI jobs or of the distribution flow. Your work will also contribute to improving the security guarantees we give publicly to our customers, since we are a part of their supply chain.

You will be involved in every step of the team’s work: discussing with other teams, be they partners or users, designing projects, building and operating them (in a full dev-sec-ops manner).

What You’ll Do:

• Design and develop new systems to improve supply chain security at Datadog
• Operate, maintain and improve the systems owned by the team
• Take part in collaborative code reviews, discussions on strategy and system design, technical writing, and retrospective on past projects
• Study existing systems in Datadog, assess the security risks associated with them, and suggest solutions to reduce these risks
• Play the role of a subject matter expert for the rest of the company and the management when it comes to supply chain security at Datadog, by answering questions and giving advice and guidance
• Mentor more junior team members and participate in the sharing of knowledge, experience and awareness through the team and the rest of the company

Who You Are: 

• You are a fast learner and are able to navigate a large organization to gather information
• You are able to work both independently and as part of a team
• You have significant experience in programming large backend systems (we use Go and occasionally Python)
• You have some experience related to information security (in particular: access control, signature and hashing)
• You are knowledgeable about Continuous Integration (CI) systems
• You are experienced with technical writing, such as design documents, technical documentation, assessment reports and project reports
