Retail Furniture Team Lead

Role Overview:
Help Create Life Change Through Second Chances 

At New Horizons Thrift Stores, our cause is to help create life change through second chances, one purchase, one life at a time. As a Retail Furniture Team Lead, you’ll be a part of that mission by treating guests with care and patience as you lead the furniture team, receive donations, and make sure the sales floor is neat and organized.

Additional tasks may be assigned at times by your supervisor. Consideration will be given to your current workload and duties.

 

Key Areas of Responsibility:

LMA: Provide leadership, management, and accountability for the following direct reports,


Furniture Associates


Guest Interaction: Treat guests with care and patience.


Sales and Customer Service for the furniture department
Load and unload furniture and donations
Ensure guests are heard and cared for in a professional manner


Furniture Sales: Clean, price and sell donated furniture.


Research pricing on donated items/products
Clean and price product for the furniture sales floor
Make minor repairs to furniture as needed to maximize sales
Organize and lead the furniture department to maximize sales


 

Workplace Environment

Physical Conditions


Work is performed indoors and outdoors in fast paced warehouse and furniture preparation area.
Exposure to dust, cleaning supplies, changing temperatures, and used goods is common.
Use of power tools, vacuums, shampooers, cleaners, and various hand tools is required.


Physical Demands


Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and repetitive movements
Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 80 pounds occasionally, either alone or with assistance


Work Schedule


Monday through Friday: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Expect occasional evening, holiday, and weekend shifts.
A minimum of one evening shift and one Saturday shift per month will be scheduled in place of a regular shift.

Desktop Computer Skills


Spreadsheets- Using a computer application to enter, manipulate, and format text and numerical data; insert, delete, and manipulate cells, rows, and columns; and create and save worksheets, charts, and graphs.
Internet- Navigating the Internet to find information, including the ability to open and configure standard browsers; use searches, hypertext references, and transfer protocols; and send and retrieve electronic mail (e-mail).
Navigation- Using scroll bars, a mouse, and dialog boxes to work within the computer's operating system. Being able to access and switch between applications and files of interest.
Word Processing- Using a computer application to type text, insert pictures, format, edit, print, save, and retrieve word processing documents.
