Job Description

AECOM Technical Services, Inc. has multiple openings for an Electrical Engineering Discipline Lead I to be based in Sun Valley, NV.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides technical leadership for a specialty and is considered to be a fully capable professional in their field.
  • Applies intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields.
  • Makes decisions independently on technical problems and methods, and represents the organization in conferences.
  • Resolves important questions and plans and coordinates work.
  • Requires the use of advanced techniques and the modifications and extension of theories, precepts and practices of the field and related sciences and disciplines.
  • Lead client meetings and act as primary point of contact for electrical activities.
  • Responsible for approval of electrical engineering design work on assigned projects.
  • Keep senior management up to date on group progress, issues, and opportunities.
  • Perform Power system studies (load flow, short circuit, protective coordination, arc flash analysis).
  • Develop protective relay settings and calculations.
  • Develop control system layouts.
  • Comply with hazardous area classification codes and standards.
  • Develop construction and equipment specifications.
  • Support projects during construction, start-up, and commissioning.
  • Perform ground analysis and design.
  • Attend client meetings. Inform of new developments and requirements affecting the organization for the purpose of recommending changes in programs and applications. Interpret, organize, execute, and coordinates assignments.
  • Make decisions independently on technical problems and methods, and represent the organization in conferences to resolve important questions and to plan and coordinate work.
  • Supervise with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits.

Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, followed by 72 months of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience in the job offered or an engineering-related occupation. Position requires:

  1. Understanding of Battery energy storage;
  2. Electrical Protection, Control and Monitor (PC&M) Software, Electrical design software;
  3. Interconnect standards and communication protocols;
  4. Control methods, energy management systems, load controllers or switchgears; and
  5. Power system modeling and analysis tools.
