Bergen Logistics is seeking a Director of Marketing to lead the planning, implementation and performance reporting of our marketing and advertising strategies, tactics, and activities to drive new business leads to our BDM team.
As our Director of Marketing, you will oversee demand creation, acquisition, and engagement, leading growth initiatives across a variety of digital channels, as well as conversion, monetization, and continued engagement via lifecycle management. Being a data driven marketer is essential to the success of this leadership role. Driving website traffic, lead creation and new opportunity creation is your primary success metric.
In this role, you’ll use strategy, creative thinking, experimentation, and analysis to drive business outcomes measuring marketing programs by revenue, ROI and exceeding targets.
This is a high visibility and high impact role: you will own everything from strategy to goal setting, executing, and reporting. You will develop and lead a team of marketers across CRM Management, Data Analysis, Performance Channels, and work with cross-functional teams to achieve complete Lifecycle Strategy and growth goals across the B2B marketplace.
This is a role that requires strong business acumen, curiosity about what drives customer needs/wants/desires, and an obsession with data to optimize performance across all parts of the funnel. You should be experienced and proficient in all phases of B2B marketing: developing and implementing lead development strategies through digital marketing campaigns, especially in Google, LinkedIn, and email, including content development and management, design, distribution, and performance tracking. Website design and optimization, including SEO/SEM experience is also necessary for success in this position. You should be experienced and proficient in managing and reporting on Google Ads and Analytics as well as other advertising platforms, and spreadsheet agility is a requirement.
You understand the full marketing mix and are familiar with ways to analyze market research and customers’ behavior. You should also be able to create spreadsheets and analyze quantitative data to interpret ROI and KPI metrics.
Ultimately, you will be a key contributor in helping us achieve our business goals by building and managing high-performing marketing strategies and campaigns.
Duties and responsibilities
- Own the vision and execution of online growth marketing strategies leading to continued success across search, display, social & affiliate partnerships and lifecycle channels.
- In addition to overseeing our strategy across multiple existing channels, help us light up new channels we haven’t yet considered.
- Dive into customer data and craft high-impact growth strategies across all parts of the user funnel, including acquisition, conversion rate optimization, engagement, and retention.
- Build and scale growth systems and programs that are automated and handed off to other business functions to make the systems and programs work better.
- Partner effectively with the Business Development, Sales Operations, Finance and Analytics teams to identify, prioritize and execute on high-growth strategies.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on KPIs, including budget pacing, LTV, and CAC, to ensure marketing initiatives are driving profitable acquisition.
- Manage an experimentation roadmap to optimize performance including A/B creative tests, incrementality tests, and spend scaling tests
- Effectively communicate strategy, objectives, and performance results to the executive team and cross-functional partners.
- Manage digital media strategies and campaigns.
- Develop content and strategies for website enhancements.
- Gather and analyze consumer behavior data (e.g. web traffic and rankings)
- Keep organized records of marketing metrics and results of past campaigns
- Prepare regular sales forecasting reports
- Monitor competitors’ marketing activities
- Conduct market research to identify new opportunities
- Identify and engage media influencers.
- Research and maintain industry event and tradeshow calendars.
Requirements
- A passion for marketing. You are a ‘strategic doer’. You stay up to date on the industry,
platforms, and changes as they roll out.
- Minimum of 7 years experience in a digital marketing role at a senior management level. Specific experience in the 3PL industry is preferred.
- Considerable experience managing marketing teams, covering product marketing,
acquisition, retention, media, mobile, advocacy, display, search, affiliates, e-mail, web
development, site content management, e-commerce, multivariate testing, sales forecasting and budgeting.
