Our department is dedicated to supporting individuals with hearing and communication disorders, as well as treating patients who have injuries, illnesses, or disabilities. Our work is rooted in the mission of reducing the impact of these challenges, which can often lead to social isolation, unemployment, and depression. We strive to improve our patients' quality of life by helping them overcome these difficulties. We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Administrative Assistant for our Saturday clinic. The ideal candidate is dedicated to helping others, exhibits excellent customer service skills, and is committed to our mission of improving patients' quality of life. • Welcome patients at their scheduled appointment times and manage check-in/check-out in UCLA’s electronic health record system (CareConnect), and inform clinicians promptly of patient arrivals.
  • Verify insurance benefits and collect patient payments.
  • Make scheduling decisions based on knowledge of clinical practices at the Clinic. Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments as needed, especially in cases where the provider is unavailable or out of office.
  • Maintain accurate records of scheduling changes, cancellations, and patient communications related to scheduling adjustments.
  • Register new patients in CareConnect and handle incoming phone calls.
  • Monitor CareConnect workqueues (orders and referrals) to ensure timely scheduling of appointments.
