About This Role

Performs Quality Engineering assignments requiring independent evaluation, selection, and application of standard Quality Engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgment and ingenuity in making adaptations and modifications. Work with a test Engineering team in the validation of test requirements from Test Readiness assessment thru Test support and observation, and Test validation and reporting. Work is performed on moderately complex contracts requiring independent execution within a defined set of skills or knowledge area. The Quality Engineer supports product design activities, planning for quality, production and test activities, data analysis and development of metrics, root cause and corrective action, and process and product improvement.

  • Support Test Engineering in
  • Test Readiness Reviews
  • Test configuration validation
  • Test setup and execution support – ensuring the test plan is being followed and documented
  • Test observation and feedback
  • Post test data and documentation review
  • Interfaces with Supplier Quality Engineering to provide guidance and support for supplier issues as it relates to Supplier Test Programs and possibly general program supplier support
  • Performs quality planning activities including development of Quality Plan, Quality Assurance Directive and Inspection Plan documents as required by the assigned project(s).
  • Participates in product development and design document reviews targeting design for manufacturability
  • Interfaces with internal organizations and systems in performance of the assigned Quality Engineering functions.Participates in process improvement activities through monitoring, root cause investigations, auditing, failure analysis etc.
  • Participates in Program Management activities appropriate to the assigned project(s).
  • Participates in Contract Data Requirements List development, review and delivery to the customer as required by the assigned project(s).
  • Assists in developing fabrication/build processes and standards
  • Performs Material Review Board (MRB) disposition and tracking activities.
  • Provides status inputs to the Cost Account Manager for tasks performed. May perform CAM function for small to medium projects.
  • Uses knowledge of inspection tools and techniques to define inspection requirements.
  • Performs QA estimating for small to medium, less complex projects.
  • Reviews customer contracts on simple to moderately complex projects; responsible for requirements analysis, identification and definition.
