Position Overview

Gaston Electrical is looking to hire a Sr. BIM Coordinator who is responsible for independently taking architectural and engineering contract documents and creating electrical 3D drawings to ensure coordination with other trades are clash-free.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following. Other duties will likely be assigned.

  • As-builts
    • Obtain electronic copies of field As-Built Redlines for each project.
    • Request and obtain BIM files from GC for manipulation.
    • Create As-Builts using AutoCAD & Revit.
    • Provide completed As-Builts to Project Manager for Project Closeouts in BIM and PDF Format.
  • BIM Coordination Duties:
    • Attend project coordination meetings with other subcontractors.
    • Create Priority List of Coordination Task by following the GC Schedule.
    • Upload required files stated on BIM Kick Off Meeting Documents to the GC Site on time.
    • Ensuring all deliverables meet deadline requirements.
    • Review contract drawings and specifications to draw coordination needed for project.
    • Identify any concerns to be addressed with Team.
    • Model using Electrical Design Department Mark Ups and/or your own mark ups.
    • In conjunction with foreman and PM, create 3D coordination drawings in AutoCAD and Revit.
    • Review Shop Drawings and clash reports to ensure that all design content is fully coordinated and accounted for.
    • Create Sign Off and Install drawings of Coordinated Plans for GC Sign Off and Field Install.
    • Work with Prefab and Electrical Design Department to prefabrication spools for conduits, panels, etc.
    • Identify Prefabrication opportunities on a project.
    • Spool Prefabrication Details for Prefabrication Shop and/or Field.
  • Team Duties
    • Work with other Team Members to help make deliverable dates.
    • Assist with training of Coordinators to help with their project needs.
    • Preform Quality Control for all deliverables on your project.
    • Help create an uplifting environment for department and all employees.

Position Requirements/Preferred Skills, Education and Experience

  • 5+ years creating and coordinating 3D electrical trade models.
  • Ability multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Electrical Coordination experience required.
  • Ability to coordinate and prefab multiple projects to closure under minimal supervision.
  • Be able to demonstrate communication skills, organizational skills and time management skills.
  • Be able to analyze problems and develop a smart solution.

 

Software Skills

  • Proficient in Revit MEP 2021, AutoCAD 2021, Navisworks 2021,
  • Experienced with Bluebeam Revu, Evolve, Autodesk Construction Cloud, and GC Document Sites (Procore, Dropbox, Revizto, Sketchup, and etc.)
  • Familiar with Online Meeting Platforms (Teams, Google, Zoom, and etc.)
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office Programs (Outlook, Excel and etc.)

 

Language Skills

Must have the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in English, cooperate, and collaborate with multiple levels of customer, employees, unions, government agencies, vendors and suppliers, and other contractor organizations.
