Job Description Summary
Working with the Grand Challenges Initiative is a great way to get
involved with the campus community. We are looking for a new student
assistant to join our team in the GCI Makerspace lab (located in the
Hashinger Science Center, 4 floor, room 427).
The position offers up to 8 hours per week for the entire Fall 2026
semester, with the potential to continue into future semesters

The position offers up to 8 hours per week for the entire Fall 2026
semester, with the potential to continue into future semesters
- Tracking inventory
- Consulting with students on their GCI projects
- Occasional event support
Undergraduate degree in similar and/or related field.
Desired Qualifications
Desired qualifications include (but are not limited to):
- Sophomore or Junior level
- Wet lab experience
- Basic wet lab training (or ability to complete a training course)
- Hazardous waste management knowledge
- Willingness to collaborate with GCI students and faculty and advise
- on their project ideas
- Problem-solving skills
- Experience in the GCI program (GCI 250 students are also welcome
- to apply!)
