General Notes

Purpose

The position will provide support for Professor Wayne Schiess’s teaching of legal research and written legal analysis to first-year students as well as upper-division students. The student hired will help Mr. Schiess create effective assessments of analytical writing.

Responsibilities

  • Meet regularly with Mr. Schiess

  • Write pieces of legal analysis

  • Research and report on topics related to written legal analysis, including generative AI

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Worked in a law-related summer job that required the student to produce written legal analysis.

Salary Range

$19 per hour (2L)
$21 per hour (3L)

Working Conditions

  • Repetitive use of a keyboard. 

  • Work may be performed at the Law School or remotely. 

Work Schedule

  • Must be available to work 5 - 15 hours per week.

  • Position begins as early as August 16, 2025, and ends May 31, 2026.

  • Most work can be completed independently on a schedule that the employee determines with oversight and direction regarding deadlines and deliverables.
