About the role

Description

Responsible for ensuring that the general plant and offices are cleaned/sanitized by following California Natural Products Sanitation Department policies and procedures to meet the FDA Current Good Manufacturing Practices standards. Must understand pre-requisite programs such as Pest Control, Environmental Monitoring, and Master Sanitation Schedule that Sanitation maintains to ensure that best practices are being followed. Must be in alignment with CNP’s company core values (Safety, Quality, Communication, Respect, Continuous Improvement, Teamwork). 


Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Train, and Manage personnel to clean offices, bathrooms, break rooms, Janitorial, and other areas utilizing the seven-step method procedure and other department SOP’s.
  • Train and Manage personnel to clean plant areas including, but not limited to, overhead fixtures, walls, floors, and drains, according to the sanitation procedures to meet regulatory standards.
  • Aid with the upkeep of peripheral plant areas to prevent pests, vermin, and dirt/trash from entering the building.
  • Ensures chemicals are properly mixed and applied to meet concentration specifications.
  • Maintains proper accountability and responsibility for supplies, equipment, and access keys.
  • Report to the supervisor pertinent information in report format.
  • Responsible for conducting monthly training, and Sanitation Department training and documentation.
  • Coordinate activities of the team to complete necessary MSS tasks and work orders.
  • Provide instruction, encourage, and hold employees accountable to high standards you set on individual task assignments.
  • Gather information through auditing, and inspection and create reports including, but not limited to, weekly sanitation inspections, inspection of all areas cleaned by Sanitation Crew, training center audit, etc. 
  • Conducts Job hazard assessments or Safety assessments as necessary to ensure employees are working in safe conditions under the Sanitation department. 
  • Needs to maintain a good overall passing rate in Redzone regarding MSS task completion. 
  • Be proficient in all RedZone functions reporting out, tracking missed datasheets as well as compiling pertinent information related to Sanitation metrics. 
  • Maintaining a healthy work environment for the employees on the floor. 
  • Responsible for maintenance and upkeep of all equipment used by the Sanitation Department. 
  • Oversees inventory and ordering for Sanitation Supplies and Sanitation Utensils. 
  • Coordinate with other departments for periodic tasks that need to be scheduled.

Requirements

Education and/or Experience: 

  • This position requires a minimum of five years experience in a janitorial and sanitation environment. Should have two years of experience in a leadership (i.e., lead or supervisor) position.
  • Knowledge of the importance of cleanliness and sanitation within a food-processing facility.

Physical Activity:

  • Regularly walk/move about, stand, reach with hands/arms, and push/pull/lift/carry 40lbs.
  • Frequently squat, bend, kneel, and climb.
  • N/A - sit.

Equipment Operated: 

  • Scissor lifts, Chemical Foamer, Forklift, Floor scrubber, Pressure Washer, Drain pumps, Ice Blaster…

Additional Compensation – Bonus Potential:  You will be eligible to participate in the Gehl Food & Beverage Bonus Program for non-exempt employees. Under this Program, quarterly and annual bonus payouts are based on achievement of targeted production numbers.  Gehl Foods, LLC reserves the right to change the Bonus Program at anytime, without notice. 


Working Conditions: 

Frequently exposed to wet and varying temperature conditions between 60-130 degrees Fahrenheit, loud noise, vibration, moving machinery/electrical parts, risk of electrical shock, airborne particles, high/precarious places, toxic/caustic chemicals, allergens including soy, milk and milk by-products and fumes from food processing equipment.
