Position Summary
Translates and develops requirements into workable software solutions. Maintains and develops programs for use in business and IT automation. Incorporates various accepted methodologies to design software and applications at a critical level to project or release. May perform duties in one or more of the following disciplines: Open Systems Mainframe Application Configuration.
This opportunity is for a Sr Software Engineer and will focus within the Claims Portfolio and will focus on: Delivering transformational Customer Claim experiences via mobile capabilities, automation, and near real-time Claims processing.
Requirements:
- 5+ Years building n-tier web applications using Java-based technologies (Java EE, Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate).
- 5+ years building enterprise software systems development, including relational databases (JDBC, SQL, ORM, data modeling and design), system integration (messaging, REST services), and web UI.
- 5+ years experience working with microservices architecture, domain driven design, and Java RESTful APIs
- 3+ Years of hands-on Guidewire ClaimCenter configuration and integration experience, including writing Gosu DataChange APIs
- Strong collaboration and influencing skills
- Completion of the Guidewire Associate Certification for Engineers
- Proficient in writing unit tests and testable components
- Experience working within the agile methodology on a product development and delivery team
- Excellent written communication and documentation skills.
- Demonstrated experience leading and coaching others
Preferences:
- Experience with Guidewire Cloud Capabilities (AppEvents and Integration Gateway)
- Experience working with Business Rules framework
- Experience driving SDLC technical and quality standards across a software development team.
- Participates in team design, scoping and prioritization sessions, and provides regular demonstrations of completed work.
- Guidewire Ace Certified (Configuration and/or Integration)
- 2+ years leading projects
Duties and Responsibilities
