Senior Associate, Automotive Forecasting & Insights

About the Role

Black Book, a recognized leader in automotive data and analytics, is seeking a Senior Associate, Automotive Forecasting & Insights to join our Data & Analytics team. This role is designed for an analytical professional with a few years of experience who is eager to deepen their expertise in residual value forecasting and market insights.

You’ll work closely with experienced leaders to support and refine Black Book’s forecasting models, analyze industry and economic trends, and contribute to insights that help shape decisions across the automotive ecosystem. Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development and refinement of Black Book’s residual value forecasts for light-duty vehicles.
• Research and interpret automotive, economic, and regulatory trends that affect vehicle values.
• Support the creation of reports, presentations, and market insights for internal teams and clients.
• Collaborate with analytics, product, sales, and marketing teams to translate findings into actionable strategies.
• Build working relationships with clients and industry partners, learning how to represent Black Book in external discussions over time.

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business, Finance, Data Analytics, or a related field (Master’s a plus).
• 3–5 years of experience in data analysis, forecasting, finance, or automotive-related roles.
• Strong analytical skills and comfort working with Excel and large datasets; experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.) is a plus.
• Familiarity with factors that drive vehicle values such as supply/demand, interest rates, technology adoption, or regulatory changes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly to different audiences.
• Demonstrated initiative, curiosity, and a desire to grow into a subject matter expert.
