POSITION SUMMARY:
Pepper Construction is seeking qualified, intelligent students with a passion for learning about the construction industry to gain hands-on experience in the Quality department with a commercial general contractor.
You will work with Quality team members as well as project teams to learn and serve as a resource in areas such as project delivery, constructability, building technology, workflow and sequencing, and proper installation techniques. You will participate in jobsite quality walks, the constructability review process, mock-ups, writing reports and helping to resolve quality building issues. We aim to expose you to real-life situations in the field and the office. You will also be involved in training sessions, job site tours, and safety. You will gain hands-on experience with a reputable general contractor in the Chicagoland Area.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
• Current college student entering their Sophomore, Junior or Senior year studying Mechanical Engineering, Construction Engineering, or Architecture.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong computer skills and the ability to quickly learn and apply new technology
• Ability to work independently while still contributing and collaborating in a team
• Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail
• Reliable transportation to and from work-related activities and assignments
• Ability and desire to work on an active construction site in the Chicagoland area.
The salary for this position is $21-24/hour based on graduation year.
