Specialist, Collective Bargaining (HR)

Summary
Spire is seeking a Specialist, Collective Bargaining to join our HR Department in Spire's downtown St. Louis location. This position’s primary responsibilities will be ensuring compliance with the respective Collective Bargaining Agreements, supporting labor negotiations, grievance procedures, and maintaining relationships with Union leadership within Spire's Eastern Missouri region.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Works closely with other members of Human Resources to assist management on union workforce-related issues, including: Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) interpretation/administration, discipline, policy and regulatory adherence, compensation and benefit administration
• Provide timely support of Labor Relations operational objectives including: Management of CBA/union issues, grievance investigations, progressive discipline, etc.
• Maintain strong, balanced and effective relationships with union leadership, business leadership, and other support departments
• Support contract negotiations by assisting with proposals, wage and benefit surveys, statistical analysis
• Ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements and make appropriate interventions as needed
• Keep abreast of the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) and other applicable labor laws
• Develop and maintain information system that tracks and analyzes grievances and other labor relations concerns
• Support Collective Bargaining Group’s goals of establishing consistency of Labor Relations across all business units
• Deliver or administer training programs related to labor relations
• All other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities

Required Education (certifications, licenses)
• Bachelor’s degree required
• PHR or SHRM-CP preferred
Required knowledge, skill and abilities
• 3 years of labor relations experience or managing in a unionized environment is required.
• Strong analytical skills/abilities preferred
• Experience conducting internal investigations and handling union grievances preferred
Physical demands, environment and schedule
• Normal Work Environment - Work is normally performed in a shared office environment.
• Up to 20% travel may be required
