Senior Cyber Security Architect/ELK Stack Lead

Responsibilities

PeopleTec is currently seeking a (Senior Cyber Security Architect/ELK Stack Lead) to support our (Huntsville, AL) location.

 

(Ability to architect a virtualized training environment with the following elements:

• Data Acquisition:
• Sensors: Suricata & Zeek sensors
• Traffic Generator: To stimulate Suricata & Zeek sensors
• Log Generators: To represent other Suricata & Zeek sensors’ data output
• Data Transmission:
  • Include transmission gear to represent network infrastructure (w/ CDS) commensurate with specified operational environment
  • Include direct feed for log generators to support training irrespective of condition of network infrastructure
• Data Ingest:
  • Using ELK stack interfaces for ingest, integrate both types of data sources into system (from sensors and log generators)
  • Include log aggregator (or splitter) to simulate different enclaves as needed to support training needs
• Data Presentation:
  • Using customized ELK based dashboards, present network events in fashion congruent with operational displays for both normal and alert conditions
  • Integrate reporting with threat feeds in keeping with same structure as feeds available on operational system
• Additional:
  • Include support tools used for incident reporting, and assignment congruent with procedures employed in operational environment
  • May include other commercial tools as needed

 

Qualifications

 

Required Skills/Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of ELK Stack/Splunk experience
• Minimum 10 years experience architecting complex networks
• Prior experience in building virtualized environments
• Extensive Red Team, Blue Team, and Threat Hunting experience
• Proficient in Linux (Ubuntu, Kali, Red Hat) and Windows opperating systems
• Proficient in analyzing, normalizing, and replicating all types of log data (PCAP; IIS; Apache; netflow; event log; sys log; O365; etc)
• Must be a hands-on technical expert with ability to work in a dynamic team environment
• Travel: up to 15 %
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• An active DoD Top Secret clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active Top Secret clearance upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering
• Certifications in GPEN; GCIH; CEH; Security+; CCDA; and CCNA

Desired Skills:

• 20+ years of overall cyber security experience
• Cloud experience with Azure 
• Prior Cyber Range experience
• Prior networking and configuration experience
• Prior Incident Response and Mitigation experience
• Prior training developement experience
• Ability to lead a diverse team
