Job Description:

The Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Florida is seeking a part-time Student Assistant to support the facilities staff team. This position provides hands-on experience in facilities operations and logistics within an academic setting.

Salary:

  • $15.00 - $17.00 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with moving furniture and equipment within department spaces.
  • Support lab cleanouts and organization efforts.
  • Perform deliveries and errands, including picking up or dropping off supplies and packages between buildings.
  • Greet guests, provide directions, and escort visitors to meetings as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to assist the facilities team.

 Work Schedule:

  • Weekdays between 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Flexible scheduling based on availability)

 

Expected Salary:

$15.00 - $17.00 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)

Minimum Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and climb flights of stairs as needed.
  • You must be a University of Florida student in good standing.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally.
  • Attention to detail and willingness to take initiative.
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision.
