Senior Retoucher (Shiseido)

Job Summary:

The Senior Retoucher is responsible for retouching a high volume of still life and on-figure images for digital & print campaigns for brands Shiseido and Cle de Peau Beaute.  The Senior Retoucher will work closely with the Director of Post Production to ensure the quality, color and style consistency throughout all branded imagery. The right candidate will possess a strong still life and beauty portfolio and be able to demonstrate expert knowledge of clipping, comping & color matching as part of a retouching test before employment. This position is a hands-on executor role with the potential to manage a Retoucher(s) in the future. 

 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Retouch images for Print (CMYK) and Digital (RGB) use
• Follow instruction on image markups placed by Director of Post and creative team
• Ensure that all products are represented accurately and in line with brand guidelines
• Convert images to CMYK as needed, review proofs with VM team
• Attend Still Life photoshoots as needed, providing retouching on set
• Produce alternate image versions, resizes and lineups as needed for deliverables
• Help maintain the image archive on drives and box.com
• Work closely with the Production, Creative and Accounts teams to ensure clients are receiving high quality work

  • VM Creative team

 

Qualifications & Competencies:

• Relevant BFA/degree or equivalent experience in a professional environment
• 5+ years retouching experience with a Brand, Agency, Post House or similar
• A portfolio showcasing beauty and cosmetics work with a focus on still life and on-figure retouching
• Hands-on knowledge of color theory and color management working within sRGB web and CMYK spaces
• Proficient in Photoshop, CaptureOne Pro, Illustrator, and Mac computers
• Team player who is solution focused and extremely detail oriented
• Strong work ethic with ability to work autonomously or collaboratively
• Good time management skills with a proven track record of juggling various projects and meeting deadlines
• Experience with Cinema4D, Blender or other 3D programs is a plus, but not required
• Experience managing others is a plus, but not required
